Steve and his wife are from Acworth, Georgia, which is about 25 miles north of Atlanta. They each own an EVELO electric bike. Steve has a Delta, while his wife rides a Luna.
Seven years ago, Steve was involved in a serious motorcycle accident. He recovered, but as he himself puts it, he now has “lots of extra parts.” A year ago, Steve decided to get back into biking. At that point, he knew nothing about electric bikes, but after seeing one in an online video, he started researching to find the right bike. Eventually, he decided on the EVELO Delta.
Now Steve goes trail riding at a local mountain bike trail, rides in and around his neighborhood, and regularly cruises Georgia’s Silver Comet Trail. He also takes part in a 23-mile ride sponsored by his local Free-Flite Bicycles shop every Saturday morning with a group of guys and gals. He is the only one on a mountain bike, but that doesn’t hold him back.
In fact, he just completed a 62-mile ride on his Delta when he participated in the GA400 Century Ride. Participants choose from 9, 27, 45, 62 or 100-mile long ride. Steve’s choice of 62 miles took him 4 hours and 40 minutes and included over 4,000 feet of elevation change. He completed the course with some battery power still left in his Delta and got an incredible workout in the process.
Steve says he enjoys jogging, but biking is not only fun exercise, it puts less stress on his joints and he winds up feeling less sore afterwards. He is so happy with his EVELO Delta that he ended getting his wife an EVELO as well. She just retired from teaching and plans on riding more with him in the future.
