Electric bikes could enable a seven percent reduction in carbon dioxide emissions by 2030. For this to happen, Americans will need to replace many short car trips and commutes with e-bike trips.

There is also little doubt that cars and trucks will continue to be the most popular form of transportation in the United States for the foreseeable future. In an effort to encourage bicycle and electric bike commuting in the United States, Representatives from Oregon, Florida, and Massachusetts introduced a new, bipartisan bill that would restore and expand tax incentives for some riders, allowing them to receive employer-paid transportation benefits of as much as $53 per month tax-free.
